What a nice find! A typewriter repair shop with such a passionate owner in your neighborhood is amazing to have!
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you found yet another typewriter shop in California, I wonder if Richard has Ole Kehlet listed in his directory. There was a repair shop here in Chicago but unfortunately, it had closed shop before I got into typewriters.
ReplyDeleteYour Royal 10 is precious!
He's on Mr. Polt's list, but now he can update the list to include a new user testimonial :D
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, typewriter repair guys are full of the talk and helpful suggestions - I still can't visit Bill Wahl without spending at least an hour chatting about typewriter stuff. I've learned to budget the time, cuz it's gonna get spent! :D
Wonderful. I did have him in my directory but have now added a link to your report.
ReplyDeleteI'd like nothing better than to take a year off and visit all the typewriter shops in the United States. Since that's impossible, maybe a tour by Google Street View is in order...
... and the tour begins.
DeleteFun! I'm looking forward to your travel photos.
DeleteNice one? nice one. I have yet to profile my local Brisbane guy, despite having profiled a repairer in Melbourne not so long ago.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great looking typewriter! Nice to find something like that in the trash. Thanks for the nice report on Kehlet's shop. Now I have another reason to visit my daughter.
ReplyDeleteIt's really good to know that there's a typewriter repair person not too far from us! Thanks for posting.
